Can I Still E-file?

Filter by Category:

E-filing offers a convenient and rapid way to submit your federal and state tax returns. Generally, you can electronically file your current year tax return and the two previous tax years. For instance, during the 2025 tax season, our services allow for the e-filing of returns for tax years 2024, 2023, and 2022.

E-Filing Deadlines and Best Practices

The IRS typically closes electronic filing in November of the current calendar year. Therefore, your last chance to e-file your 2022 tax return is in November 2025. While this November date is the final cut-off for electronic submissions, we strongly recommend filing by the extension deadline of October 15 for each respective tax year, particularly if you anticipate owing any taxes. Adhering to the October 15th date helps ensure timely processing and avoids potential penalties and interest, especially for those with a tax liability.

Filing After E-file Closes

Once the IRS closes electronic filing for the year, you must print, sign, and mail your tax return to the IRS and/or state department of revenue. When mailing, be sure to attach copies of all supporting income statements, such as W-2s, 1099s, and any other required forms, to ensure your return is processed correctly and without delays.
